a. Country office
Managed a stall during World Environment Day Exhibition
on 5th June at F-9 Park, Islamabad. ARUP Banners
were displayed in and around the stall. Information
collected from web, international and national sources
was displayed. Leaflets and membership forms were
distributed to all interested.
- Participated in the Road Safety Seminar held
at NHA on 9 June 99.
- Lists were provided to World Bank of stakeholders
in road matters for their workshop.
b. Sindh Province
- Participated in the seminar on "Shipping
Policy Development" held at Karachi on 14
June.
- Participated in presentation at Governors House
on Karachi Metropolitan Transport Authority (KMTA)
on 5 June.
- Efforts have also been initiated on having ARUP
on KMTA board.
c. Punjab Province
- Meeting in connection with LUTP at Lahore from
20 to 25 June.
d. NWFP Province
- Provincial meeting for arranging the next workshop
at Peshawar was held on 13 June. Two local newspapers
adequately covered the same. (Extracts enclosed)
2. NEXT WORKSHOP
NWFP provincial workshop is being organized on
Sunday 18th July at Pearl Continental Hotel Peshawar.
Registration desk will start at 0830 while the formal
proceeding will start by 0900 and continue till13:00.
Detailed program and invitation cards are available
with Mr. Abdus Salam Arif. He may be contacted at
Phone # 0921 510921 or 511989. Those interested
to participate are requested to collect their invitation
by 17 July.
All members of the Executive Board are requested
to attend the same.
3. Workshop in Baluchistan
Province is expected in August. Provincial coordinator
is requested to present the proposed program during
the next Executive Board Meeting at Peshawar. An
Executive Board meeting will also be held with the
provincial workshop at Baluchistan in August.
4. Executive Board Meeting Schedule
Executive board meeting is scheduled for 17th July
at Peshawar under arrangements of NWFP provincial
committee. All members are to coordinate directly
with the NWFP members for logistic requirements,
if any. World Bank has been requested to kindly
reimburse economy class airfare to members traveling
from other provinces. Confirmation and procedure
will be communicated soon
5. VISION
Three statements have been received so far. The
same are enclosed for discussion during next Executive
Board Meeting.
6. Miscellaneous

Progress on registration under "social welfare
act" will be discussed in next meeting.
Registration under "societies act" has
not been applied, awaiting decision of social welfare
application.
Monthly returns of activities, state of work and
funds needs to be streamlined and forwarding of
information to country office regularly be ensured.
Nominations for vacant provincial Posts of executive
board are still awaited.
ARUP id card design is being prepared. Your proposal
for the same please be sent to country office.
Agenda points for next Executive Board meeting
and confirmation of your participation please are
communicated by 15 July.
Travel schedule and logistics requirements also
be communicated to NWFP Provincial secretariat.
